Journal of Marine Science and Engineering (JMSE, ISSN 2077-1312) is a peer-reviewed, international open access journal covering marine engineering, chemical oceanography, physical oceanography, marine biology, marine geoscience, coastal engineering, and marine environmental science.
2023 marks JMSE’s 10th anniversary. Since its inception, the journal has been recognized and supported by international scholars, and the number of papers submitted and published has been continuously increased, and has been indexed by Scopus, SCIE and other databases. The journal impact factor continues to rise, with an IF of 2.744 in 2021 and a JCR ranking of Q1 (Engineering, Marine).
The journal would like to extend its sincere gratitude to its readers, authors, peer reviewers, editors, and all the scholars who have contributed to the journal over the years. In the future, the journal will not forget its original intention, do a good job in academic promotion and dissemination, and promote the development and progress of oceanographic research.

JMSE inaugural (quarterly);
2015
Indexed in the Inspec database;
2017
Indexed by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science) and Scopus (Elsevier) databases to launch the Travel Award program;
2018
Indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database;
2019
Harvested the first impact factor of 1.732 (2018), changed it to a monthly magazine, and launched the Highly Cited Paper Award project;
2020
The journal impact factor increased to 2.033 (2019), ranking 31/66 (Q2) under the “Oceanography” category;
2021
Journal impact factor increased to 2.458 (2020), ranked 29/65 (Q2) under the “Oceanography” category, launched the Best Paper Award and Young Investigator Award programs;
2022
The journal impact factor increased to 2.744 (2021), ranked 4/16 (Q1) in the “Engineering, Marine” category, achieved a CiteScore of 2.8, ranked 42/98 (Q2) in the “Ocean Engineering” category, and launched the Best PhD Thesis Award and Outstanding Reviewer Award programs.

Best Paper Award 2022
The JMSE Best Paper Award 2022 will be awarded to 4 academics to encourage and promote high-quality academic research in related fields. 2 first prizes (CHF 800) and 2 second prizes (CHF 500/person). Fellows receive a certificate and a free peer-reviewed paper published in a JMSE journal by the end of 2023.

Travel Awards 2023
The JMSE Travel Prize 2023 is open to all postdoctoral and doctoral students, and provides financial support to researchers who will participate in relevant international academic conferences in the field of oceanography in 2023. 2 winners (CHF 800/person) will receive a certificate.
