About Northwestern Polytechnical University

Introduction to the School of Mathematics and Statistics
The school focuses on cutting-edge scientific issues in mathematics, statistics and their applications, and carries out high-level scientific research and high-level talent training. Its predecessor was the Department of Mathematical Mechanics established in 1957, adjusted to the Department of Applied Mathematics in 1987, merged with the Department of Applied Physics and the Department of Chemical Engineering in 2003 to form the School of Science, and formally established the School of Mathematics and Statistics in 2019.
